FTC Disclosures
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Template document. Not legal advice.
This page summarizes VitalSync's material connections with the brands and products it covers, consistent with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and the Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
Affiliate relationships
Some outbound product links on VitalSync are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate programs currently include:
- Amazon Services LLC Associates Program
- iHerb affiliate program
- Direct-to-consumer brand partner programs (varies by brand)
We disclose affiliate links near the links themselves (in-page) in addition to this summary. Commission rates do not determine rankings, aggregate scores, or which brands appear in search.
Sponsored listings
Brands and clinics can purchase visibility on VitalSync. Paid placements are labeled with a Sponsored badge on the card itself — not only in a footer or tooltip. Sponsorship only affects visibility; it cannot:
- Remove or edit user reviews.
- Change aggregate star ratings.
- Suppress negative feedback.
- Disable reporting tools.
How sponsored content is labeled
- Feed and search: a yellow “Sponsored” chip on the card.
- Brand profile: a banner on the top of the profile noting sponsorship status and start date.
- Display ads from Google AdSense: labeled “Advertisement” per AdSense requirements.
Editorial independence
VitalSync does not accept payment to change community reviews or to write favorable editorial content. Brand sponsors have no approval rights over editorial coverage. Staff-written or AI-assisted editorial content is labeled and, when relevant, discloses any material connection with the products discussed.
User reviews
User reviews on VitalSync are written by real pseudonymous members and are published as submitted, subject only to moderation for policy violations (harassment, spam, doxing, undisclosed promotion, illegal content). We do not pay for reviews, buy positive reviews, or suppress negative reviews — consistent with 16 CFR Part 465.
Community members posting about products they have a material connection to (employee, affiliate, paid partnership) are required to disclose it in the review itself. See our Community Guidelines.
Launch Community Content
During our launch phase, community discussion is seeded with AI-paraphrased content grounded in real public health/beauty discussions. Seed accounts are labeled 🌱 Launch community on their profiles and every byline. Seed content never includes specific brand efficacy claims or fake testimonials. As real members join, their voices populate the feed. We auto-disable seeding once we reach 100 active real members.
