HRT types - oral estradiol vs patch vs gel, what did you pick?

about to start HRT. gyno is giving me options. patch sounds convenient, gel seems flexible, oral is simplest. any strong opinions on one being better for hot flashes specifically? side effect differences? i know this is doctor territory just want real world experiences. ty in advance.
