microneedling 3 sessions — my honest review

did 3 sessions, 4 weeks apart, at a medspa. $350/session. downtime was 2-3 days each (red, sandpapery). results at 3 months post last session: pores visibly smaller, a couple of shallow acne scars less noticeable, texture smoother. dramatic? no. worth $1050 to me? yes, because it stacked with good skincare. would not do it without sunscreen compliance after.

baby botox at 31 — regret or the best decision

did 20 units between my brows and forehead. cost $320. lasted about 4 months. my 11s were starting to look deep when i was NOT mad and it was driving me insane. do i feel vain about it? yes. would i do it again? also yes. just don't go to the cheapest place, find someone who undercorrects on purpose.

chemical peel for post-acne marks — week 4

25% mandelic acid peel, in-office, one session so far. 3 days of flaking, a bit of tightness, nothing crazy. week 4 PIH spots are about 40% lighter. booking another one at the 6 week mark. doing nothing else new, keeping spf tight. mandelic is gentler than glycolic for sensitive skin, just fyi.

hydrafacial is basically an expensive extraction + mask

got one before an event. my skin did look glowy for 3 days. worth the $200? honestly for an event yeah, for general skin care no. you can get 85% of the effect from a good cleanser, a gentle acid, and a hydrating mask at home for $40 and reuse forever.

can you do anything about melasma while breastfeeding

my derm said tranexamic acid topical is probably ok but laser + hydroquinone are out til done nursing. anyone who dealt with melasma postpartum — did you just wait? did laser post-weaning actually clear it? what order did you do things in?

laser hair removal - the math over 5 years

did full back + chest, 8 sessions over 18 months, $1800 total with a package deal. compare to: waxing monthly at $120 = $1440/yr, shaving = ingrown hell + time. laser is essentially done after 5 years of shaving/waxing in cost. for me it paid off by year 2. if you're committed to removing hair forever, laser wins on math alone.

morpheus8 at 48 — realistic before/after

did one full face session. downtime a real 5 days of looking like a strawberry. results at 3 months: skin noticeably tighter along the jaw, not dramatic but my necklace sat different lol. pricey (~$2200 for my area). would i do another? maybe next year. it's not a facelift, manage expectations.

guys getting tox treatments, speak up

50s dude. finally caved and got a little forehead tox. feel weirdly self conscious about mentioning it. most of my buddies have also done stuff and we don't talk about it. if you're a guy thinking about it — it's fine, everyone else is already doing it, just find a conservative injector.
